My day in London

By Nick | Permalink

I set off early today from my brother’s place in fairytale Hertford, just north of London. The train fare today was £13, not exactly something I’d like to pay everyday. This ticket allowed me to take an overground train into town and then ride subway and buses all day.

My first stop was Covent Garden, home of the old fruit market and opera house. I was getting ready to meet up with a contact and had some time to snap away.

It was early and the stall holders had just begun arriving.

Empty Covent Garden Market

Fancy shops now populate the halls.

Getting set up.

The heat arriving.

It was actually a pretty freezing day if you ask me and I had to find something hot to drink.

Of course! Where else.

Fuelled by coffee I hoofed it to Trafalgar Square to watch that geezer freeze his toes off on top of that tower.

The lions are quite tame this time of year.

I then strolled down through Whitehall, past Great Scotland Yard, Downing St etc to Parliament Square, on the way stopping to pet the pony.

Plenty of history around here.

Nice Watch!

After my stroll with the touro’s I jumped onto a train to Sloane Square to meet up with Jeff from Sacremento ( our database guru ) who lives in Chelsea.

My day was wrapped up by visiting a couple of hostels, making sure the beds are safe for Boots members to sleep in and a trip to the dentist (got to go back tommorrow for cleaning…no biggie, I hope she’s cute).
