Rainy Day

By Nick | Permalink

It’s midday here in rainy London. I’m once again at the cyber cafe close to the Wood Green tube station. People are out in droves buying up any kind of bargain that is on offer and it seems many people are off of work and have time to visit friends. I will be meeting Philip Blazdell tonight for a drink or three with one of his friends from Japan, then we’re going on a Jack the Ripper walk.

Some of the things I’ve noticed that seem strange are the spellings. I saw a sign today that said ‘Colour Centre’. Also the content of the tv shows is way more racy than in the US. Nudity and no holds barred comments are part and parcel of broadcast tv these days.

We watched a funny show last night where 2 showbiz guys trained for a month then climbed into a boxing ring for charity. Quite funny as both were nice guys.

Bali is coming quickly and I’m going to try to squeeze time in with parents, sister and other relatives. I’m leaving 2.45pm, Jan 1. Quite exciting.
