Heading to the airport
Today I said goodbye to the family after spending a very enjoyable New Years eve at my parents house. We had my sister Ingrid over with her boyfreind Chris and their daughter Nicole. My mum was a champ with the food ( she has been the whole time I was back! ) and cooked juicy thick steaks. We drank wine ( except Chris who steadfastly refuses alcohol when he’s driving ) and that later changed to Guinness for me.
The evening turned into a card session between me, my brother and the parents with good conversation and snacks. Our evening finished at 3am.
This morning I was definitely moving slower than normal though not in a terrible state. Chris and I headed off to Gatwick for my 4.45pm flight. Chris has been another real champ letting me stay at his place in Hertford and driving me all over the place, hope he visit us out in Bali.
Today was a typical wet one with conditions resembling that day Sean and I had in Santa Barbara on the campus crawl.
Checking in at Gatwick was super quick, New Year’s Day isn’t a popular time to travel, but good if you want an empty airport. I was finally heading out and drank a coffee with Chris before boarding. My guts were coming back to life and I was trying to be as lifelike as possible.
What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories
