Photo Gallery of Portland Move

Well, it’s Sunday night and Chris and I are tapping away at our keyboards. Which is not that different, except, that we are in Portland. Here is a collection of photos and captions from the past 72 hours…

Andy and I have a beer on the Eugene porch on Thursday night. It was a sort of “good-bye” drink that Andy came over for.

We took a picture of the router, hub and some other stuff in case we could not remember the set-up once we got to Portland

Chris and I lift the Grill onto the truck. Hopefully there will be many more barbeques in Portland.

Jen Leo asked Chris and I todo something funny for the picture, I could not think of anything, so I instinctively grabbed Chris’ arse.

The last picture on the front porch..notice something missing in the right corner?

Ant digging up his stuff

Chris and my pops leave in the truck while I wait to check out with landlord.

Once in Portland, we need to wire out the new office, and to save money, we recruited some help from my pops and some friends of BootsnAll.

My pops was born and grew up on a farm…him and his siblings are hard workers and never complain or whine about it. Pops told me that Chris is as hard of a worker as he as ever met. That is saying a lot coming from a hard guy like my pops. (the picture is of Chris cleaning the kitchen today)

Blake, friend of ours drills into concrete. The holes he drilled were for wall mounts for the Category 6 cable.

Grant lays out the cabling this morning in the basement. 5 of us were drilling holes and cabling out the basement this morning so that we can “plug in” anywhere. It was a lot of work for a Sunday, but worth it.

Ant and I ate our dinners on the porch. In a matter of 15 minutes, about 4 sets of neighbors came up to the porch to introduce themselves. Adam, from across the street, even gave us some desserts from his restaurant, Acadia, A New Orleans Bistro. Yum.

“instinctively grabbed Chris’ arse.”??
And people wonder why I’m leaving for Australia.

It was an intense few days, and I’ll sleep well tonight, but we’re all moved in and all that remains is rearranging desks and boxes to get it how we want. Feels good.

And if I’m a hard worker, Sean’s dad is a warrior. Lifting, drilling, running cable, running around, all with a probable broken toe. He gets my vote for MVP.

Guys,

I feel all nostalgic reading this. We spent some helacious ( you and Chris mostly in that house on 12th Ave and I recognise every piece of junk coming out of it. Wish I was there to help you..really I do.

Great to see Chris and Ant’s face for the first time in a while, hope to see more of those guys online.

Ant. The summer is edging closer mate, get ready for a wonderful experience.

Chris you sexy little bugger. If you don’t leave Bali with a smile on your face I will have failed. Failiar in NOT acceptable.

Sean. You’re the greatest bro. I look forward to helping you move into whatever place makes you happy and you can always count on my help.

Glad to hear the move went well. I’m sure you still have boxes and boxes of crap…ahem…important items lying around awaiting a new home on a shelf. If you need any more grunt help around the place drop me an email sometime.

Right across from Acadia? I’ve heard good things about that place, but haven’t been there yet. You’re in a nice area of town.

Thanks for the wishes Nick…yes, we had some excellent memories in that place.

Shawn, thanks for the offer…we are on the corner of 13th and Freemont (on 13th, front door facing Acadia) if you want to stop by.

Yup, it was quite the time moving. Sorting everything out, getting it loaded up, seeing the Eugene friends and saying those “see you later”s. It’s good to be moved in though, and to have started getting everything set up.

Nick - thanx mate. I’m sure my ugly mug’ll be popping up a lot more, especially once August hits and I hit London!

This whole area has some really nice folks. In the Eugene house we didn’t have as much interaction with the neighborhood because, well, there wasn’t much in the way of a neighborhood there. Most of the buildings in that area were commercial, and we got to know loads of folks around there pretty decently, but up here in PDX we’re interacting more with both business folks and homeowners. Very nice ppl so far, and I can’t wait to meet more.

I am sooo sorry I couldn’t be there to help with the move. Once I’m feeling better, I’ll come by and check out the new digs! So glad you guys are up here now!
