Portland Bound
By Hydro | PermalinkBy the time you’re reading this newsletter, the BootBoyz will be down to our last 48 hours in Eugene, Oregon. It’s been our home for the last 5 years and served us well. The time has come to move on though, and Portland is the new HQ for BootsnAll. Even though we’re happy to be moving into a bigger space (just in time for half of us to leave the country), it’s amazing how much useless crap we’ve accumulated over the years. As we pick through what we want to keep and what we want to get rid of, it kind of feels like we’re getting ready to go on a round-the-world trip or something. It’s strangely liberating to pack stuff up in boxes, donate it, recycle it, or throw it away.
Naturally, we’ll miss our friends in Eugene, but it’s only 100 miles up the road, and we’ll be back down every now and again. We’re looking forward to exploring Portland and if there are any folks in town that want to meet up for a tea/coffee/beer, just let us know. There’s a pub 5 doors down from the new office and it needs to be reviewed!

Hey,
Welcome to Portland! It is a great city, tons of fun everywhere! Check out he East side, it’s my favorite part of town. Bertie Lous’s on SE 17th and Tacoma for the best breakfast, served until 2pm, too! Enjoy.
The next I visit my distant cousins in Gresham I will certainly drop by.
Any jobs going boys? then my cousins will be able to sponsor me……
Thanks, Shawn and Sara for your eating tips. I live in Portland and welcome your suggestions.
Carlton, Cascade and XXXX are all fine and dandy but there’s nothing like a McMenamin’s brew! I am seriously missin my Portland beer!
As far as Portland goes: fantastic grub @ Salvador Molly’s (SW) and Santa Fe Cafe (NW)
By the sound of things I just don’t think the 4 of you will have any trouble adjusting/re-adjusting to your “new” home.
Alise in OZ
This is better than The Oregonian Dining Guide.
Keep them coming. I’m noting everything.
Come over to the Classical Chinese Garden on one of the days I’m doing tours, and I’ll give you one.

For great brews and the atmosphere of an old English pub try Horse Brass in Belmont Station on east Belmont. The selection of beers on tap is amazing.
Eko, you need to take a hit off of the clue bong.
Can’t go wrong in Portland, each quadrant has excellent food, local micro beer. My picks for downtown (SW) are momo’s (sw 10th and around morrison) (nice patio and great sprecials), tugboat (SW 10th and ankeny)(great beer brewed there), or for coffe I’ve been wanteing to try the new Stumptown on SW3rd.
Usually I live in Seattle, but I come down to Portland to visit Powell’s book store. -Yes I drive 3 hours each way to visit a bookstore. I will certainly be up for a beer when I get back from my round the world trip. I am about 1/2 way done so that would be around August or so.
Enjoy Portland!
Welcome to Portland! You’ll have to post the address of you office so we can visit. As far as bars…
SE 45th and Hawthorne there is a big group of good places..the Spaceroom, the Bog (Bar of the Gods)..Seiwigllys.. Mt Tabor Pub (live music). Thursday nights is a good time to go downstairs at the Goodfoot SE 28th and Stark. Great house band, cheap beer and lots of fun. There are so many great places in this town it’s hard not to just happen upon them.
Finally, the big move is happening! We’re psyched to have you here & meet up for beers/ cheap eats. We know all the good deals for happy hour - even $1.95 sushi plates at Dragonfish for you Chris! Send us an email or call when you get into town.
Andrea & Dale

I visited Portland in 2001 (my god has it been that long ??), anyway i’d highly recommend having drinks in the Labrador Pub and hunting out the restaurant called ‘M’ - unbelievable choice of macaroni dishes and astounding value - good advice all the way from Down Under Oz !! Keep booting - JC
Oi!!!
you guys should check out Fujin’s on Hawthorne. Also, check out the Pied Cow for some good coffee, Its been awhile since I lived in PDX but check the book for PC. ANd of course, you can NOT leave out the Burnside Skate Park. I would also say to visit the 24-hr. church of Elvis but I think she has left the building. I could be wrong!
Enjoy!
Dada & Melinda - too right!
This past weekend a couple of my friends came up to P-town from Eugene, and we went out for a pint at Good Foot and then some coffee (and a hookah and a salami plate) at Pied Cow.
Awesome places - Pied Cow especially. That’s one of the neatest coffee houses I’ve ever been in.

I’d love to get together. I’ll send you a quick email with my details.
About time you left that damn hippy town and moved to the big hippy city.
If you’re new space is downtown and you’re looking for some cheap lunch I’d head over to 5th/Stark area where all the street vendors gather around noon. The Polish guy is my favorite.
