Sand in My Bra
After various guerilla marketing efforts to promote the Sand in My Bra book event at Mother Kali’s last night, Jen Leo was optimisitic about how many folks would show up.
As it turned out, every seat was filled and the event went very well. Sean, Jen and I, along with Susan Brady from Travelers’ Tales met for a drink at Mac’s bar to stiffen the nerves (just kidding), then went to Mother Kali’s to set up. Susan and Jen had done some creative shopping and bought some props to make sure people knew they were in the right place…
Sand in My Bra, literally.
Jessica Maxwell, author of a couple of books and a full-time travel writer, wrote the introduction and had the audience laughing early as she read from the book.
Jen also read a few stories and sidebars from the book. Afterwards, there was a Q&A session and Jessica and Jen offered their expertise to newbie travel writers and shared a few funny anecdotes from their own travels.

What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories
