It’s a Great Day for Baseball
One of the big benefits for me, in regards to moving to Portland, is that the basic cable package includes WGN. For those of you that do not know, WGN carries 100 Chicago Cubs Baseball games live per year and is a free channel in Chicago.
It has been 6 years since I had this much Cub action. This increased exposure to the Cubs has my Cubbie juices flowing more than usual. I even wander into public on a daily basis with what Chris O’Neill describes as, a hat with the top chopped off.

Thou shalt believe…
typical aussie…tall poppy syndrome - someone starts to do well, and the aussie has to cut ‘em down.
Can the Cubs hang in there? They were leading the NL Central for a while and I was thinking maybe, maybe.
But they’re only just above .500, your boys need to put a run together.
Put some cork back in the bats.
Do the Cubs still play a lot of games in the weekday afternoons?
yes - they play lots of home games in the afternoon. With the long schedule (162 games) if they can stay in the mix and keep good pitching, they can have a chance coem aug, septemeber…
Hey, if the Angels can win there’s hope for the Cubs.
Sean- hold on to your dreams!
crap on a stick:
CHICAGO — Outfielder Corey Patterson, in the midst of a breakout year for the Cubs, has a torn ACL in his left knee, the Cubs announced Monday.
(strangely, they said he would be out for the rest of the season and would be placed on the 15 day disabled list.)
very disappointing injury Miguel - I saw it happen and it didn’t look so serious. I wonder how a young guy will repond to an injury like that - will his speed decrease.
Thanks Sogalgirl - u r right - if the Angels can do it, so can the Cubbies.
