I don’t know about Athens being the number 1 international travel destination. From what I hear its rather unpleasant when you factor in the oppressive heat, pollution, traffic and general lack of facilities.

I’d aim for the Greek islands or the Turkish mainland.

I was glad to see Ft. Worth as one of the top domestic destinations. It has been my adopted home town for over 20 years. I haven’t always lived there, but it seems I wind up there periodically. To those who follow the link and read the blurb — you don’t have to spend $100/night in Ft. Worth, the author picked the thre most expensive hotels in town. Ft. Worth also has an active sports scene, with affordable minor league baseball and hockey, and decent NCAA sports at TCU. The Bass Fine Arts Complex downtown has been lauded as one of the best places in the country to see/hear musical performances.
