Ball & Chain

Although my wedding is still about one month away, my bachelor party begins tonight! Instead of doing the typical bachelor party, I am going to head off with a group of my good friends and raft a 40 mile section of the Rogue River, over the course of the next 3 days.

For those of you who love whitewater this is one of Oregon’s best whitewater rivers, much like the Gauley River of West Virginia or the Salmon River of Idaho. The river is loaded with good rapids (two class V, one is a 12 foot waterfall), great salmon fishing, and old growth forests that runs each side of the river most of the trip.

This is my favorite Rapid on the trip.

I will update everyone when I return on Sunday.

How did you talk six strippers and a DJ into doing a Class V?

I have rafted the zambezi and our guide gave us some sage advice on approaching the first Class V - paddle…or die…!!

I still get weak boweled thinking about it

Donovan mate, you really need to do your honeymoon in Bali. My mate Palu will take you ( actualy both of us) out in some big surf and you will be the boat in that picture.

Palu was telling me that in surf over 25ft sometimes your board will drag you 100 meters underwater and you are almost unconcious on surfacing.

Come on out mate the ‘washing machine’ is waiting.

What is BootBlog?

BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.
