It’s actually the number one animal that kills more people in Africa, more so than Waterbuffalo, snakes and all the other “predators.”

What generally happens is that people swim (or get water) in areas that have hippo. They are very territorial and, if you get between a hippo and it’s homewater (just like a bear and its cub), you better run, run and run.
