Every Which Way

The end of summer is coming and the Portland office is busy scurrying around to enjoy the rest of it and settle down for the fall. The remodeling of the office is *almost* done and we hope to be back next Tuesday, Donovan is celebrating his honeymoon in Bali, Sean is toying with the idea of camping this weekend and I’m debating a quickie road trip to the happening town of Butte, Montana, which my friend Shannon described this way:

This letter is in regards to this labor day weekend. I have contacted my mother and informed her of our interests in coming to beautiful Butte America. I was wondering if I could persuade you in going to Big Sky Country. Its beautiful landscapes are very intriguing. As you enter the mining city of Butte you will notice our lady of the rockies floating on the East Ridge. Just left of that is our most popular site for the tourists. It is the Berkely Pit. Its water is contaminated and our experts have still not found a way to rid of this substance. If you do not take this opportunity now, you may never see the beautiful mining city because the contaminated water may overflow, one day, and the city will be lost.

Also the night life is fabulous. You will not go thirsty as there is a bar on every corner in the town. Where you are guaranteed at least 2 beers lined up for you as you belly up to the bar. (the beer only costs $1.75) The infamous Met is the popular hang out for the locals and the kicker is I know the owner. As you enter the Met you may notice a picture of the most famous person from Butte. Yes you guessed it, Evel Kinevel. I know. How can a town have so much to offer. Well sister it gets better.

For your shopping pleasure you can go to historic uptown Butte, or the wonderful Butte Plaza Mall. There are probably shops there that you will get no where else. For fine dining, there is every fast food restaurant you can think of. So when you are on the go it is there.

I know, I know, you are asking, when can I go. So here it is, this trip will only cost you 10 hours in a car with wonderful, funny, and goodlooking company. Bring little cash, I know all the cops so I can get you out of anything. There is so much to do and so little time. We may not get to everything. That is the beauty of Butte. It is so laid back that it won’t matter to you or anyone else around you.

With a description like that, is it to be missed??!!!

Just to be with Shannon sounds exciting, funny and adventurous. It’s the person, not the place.

If you decide to go, I doubt you’ll regret it.
