Bali, Indonesia Recap
By Sean | Permalink |
I am about to goto the Bali Airport. Nick and I are wrapping up some final todos and I am finishing up packing at the same time. I didn’t post much, cuz we didn’t do much besides work. It was not a holiday. Maybe next time…The embedded picture (it is clickable for bigger view) is of Batu Belig Beach. We ran there every morning…notice the Bali Bungy Jump in the far right hand side.
Some highlights included:
Paradise FM Bali Radio Interview
Morning runs on the beach
Getting to know Ika a bit more and see her belly grow
Meeting the legendary Barrie and getting to hang out a litte with him and his wife
Spending time and working on stuff with Nick
Saturday’s Bar-b-que
Catching up with Ebong and other folks
A typical day for us was.
6:00 Get up and do a run (4 to 5 miles) on the beach
7:00 am - Shower and get online
8:00 am - Breakkie and the days todos
9:00 am - Ika makes us more coffee and we bare down till 1 or 2 in the office
1:00 pm: Walk to Warung Mimpi for a quick lunch
2:00 pm: Back up the office and more Coffee from Ika till 6 or 7
6:30 pm: Dinner somewhere
later: Get back - get online and finish some more todos hit the hay aroudn 10ish
Not very exciting as far as Bali can be with Surfing, going to East Bali, or a Bali Bungy Jump…but still a good time. We save a absolute tonne of time by having internet in the house versus driving all over town like past trips. I’m sure this has already brought less stress to Nick’s life.
One of the things that Nick and I always do, is dream. We had a few of these sessions and one of them had me coming back to Bali sometime for 30 to 60 days and just working here. This is more feasible with the excellent internet that he has. We could go surfing everyday and I could try to enjoy what the island has to offer more. We’ll see if this happens…so much todo in the meantime.
Off to Delhi via Hong Kong…l8rs.

Hey Dusty,
No worries…I completely understand. I did get a 10-year unlimited entries into India visa this time so I will be coming back much more often.
When I travelled extensively in ‘96 and ‘97 - I did the Delhi, Agra, Ajmer and Udaipur circuit plus a bunch more - maybe we’ll get a chance to do a few of them this time.
cheers

Hi Sean
Since I am switching jobs, moving back to being a chartered accountant, I have to complete the continuing professional education course, my classes start Monday - just two hours. But they are pretty scattered throught out April. And I do have to finish ten hours in April. Thus, looks like I will be unable to meet you in Delhi. Also realised that your trip in India is short - I guess you are also catching up on some work. But you must do the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur-Ajmer-Udaipur (you will be able to manage this one). email me if you can with ur delhi contact details. Really feel bad about this, i had sort of planned to be in Delhi when you arrive. BTW- Delhi is BOILING HOT!
