India Media and other stuff

In the 24 hours I have been here, I have read 2 english language Indian newspapers

Hindustan Times

India Times

Reading news about a place from far away, like the Oregonian or whatever local I read, is nothing like reading what the locals read everyday. I reckon it’s a great way to find out what is going on that people might be thinking/talking about.

A few things in the past 24 hours:

Pakistan Beat India in ODI

India got slaughtered on it’s home turf. Ouch.
Musharraf Visits India/Delhi
Talking about peace, Kasmir stuff

There was an article in the Hindustan Times this morning (can’t find the link online) that talks about the Pakistan President’s security cavalcade. Like 100+ cars speeding throuh Delhi at 100+km an hour. I once saw this type of this in San Francisco when Laura Bush was there…our bus pulled over and a stream of fast racing motorcyles and cars came screaming by for about 10 minutes or so. LBush was in one of them.

Anyway, off to Suchi’s…

I know the folks over there must be taking good care of you and your dad. But do take lots of fluids, fresh lime soda (ask for mixed, where they mix salt and sugar syrup) would do you good in the heat, so would lassi and delhi sure knows how to whip up the lassi. Dont take the ice cubes though. Hope you are surviving well. I so wish we could have met, your offshoring project should have been in Bangalore.
