Schapelle Corby trial verdict: BaliBlog
By Sean | Permalink |Nick has written an excellent piece on Schpelle Corby’s trial verdict day…everyone came into the office early today cuz we are gonna cut off at noon of the long weekend and it is fun to read Nick’s perspective on the whole situation…much different from all the mainstream media’s articles.
I especially like his reflection on freedom in part 2.

Schapelle Corby is guilty. Her family are trash. Her mother is a ulgy old bad and her sister is a skank. In fact, her whole family are Poor White Trash Bogans. “Beauty Student”! Crap - that’s like calling a stripper and “exotic dancer”. Both mean brain dead skank
After studying and researching the Schapelle Corby case , I tend to think she is guilty based on all the evidence. 4 odd kilos of MJ is way too small an amount for a big syndicate to be involved in the deal. Cocaine or Heroin yes, but not Marijuana. Saying that,4.1 kilos or 9.0 pounds of MJ would be the perfect amount for an individual to smuggle especially as the MJ was vacuum sealed, to compress it and to help mask the odor. I have heard reports that the stash was vacuum molded to the shape of the boogie board!! She has visited Bali before and no doubt knew the risks associated with drug involement. However she also knew that good MJ is no doubt in short supply in this island paradise. I believe she had a Western connection waiting in Bali for her. What a winning combinationn good herb and a Westerner to sell to all the other surfers who much prefer buying weed from a bro rather than the locals. I have also heard that local Bali weed is poor quality, not the hydroponic dynamite the surfers are used too. Surfers are fussy stoners and like good herb and a cool vibe with their connect. She new there was money to be made there and her greed ans stupidity got the better of her. Her family member who owns a surf shop probably had a hand in it in my opinion.
Other than a complete set-up by the Indo. police or some conspiracy theory with Australian baggage handlers invoved, the evidence is there!! The more you look the more inconsistances and negative coincidences you notice!! Did’nt she notice the extra ten pounds of weight in her boogey board bag?? Why did she even travel with a boogey board when you can buy one in Bali for $5.00 ??
She got greedy and figured they would’nt search a big tittied, blue eyed, semi-cute Austalian girl. Boy was she wrong!!
I have followed the schapelle corby’s case from the start. In a way i can imagine what her family is feeling because my brother was locked up in the remand centre and he also said he was innocent. Lucky for him a witness spoke up 18 months later and all the charges were dismissed then his freedom was given back. Unfortanatley he was all ready judged by many people as been guilty and when he did get his freedom back he had to put up with a lot of abuse from people when he walked down the street. Whether Schapelle is innocent or guily of course her family will be emotional about what is happening to her. Unless you have been through a situation like this and have an understanding i think people should keep all negative coments to them selves. Imagine Schapelles family reading some of the negative coments i have, It would be very hurt full for them, they are going through enough pain why make them suffer anymore. Doesnt matter if she is guilty, family support each other, even when they make a mistake. I bet if the people who have made negative and hurtfull comment had a person in the same situation years down the track they would do the same as the corby family are doing now.
i dont think indonesia really cares if schapelle was innocent or guilty, in my opinion indonesia used her as an example to show australians what not to do and let us know that they have the power and they will use it, they welcomed the media with open arms to show the world what power they have. I think a few of the judges thought the whole case was amusing, what person involed in such a serious case would have a smile all over there face. Cant say anyone in an Australian court would be smiling.
I just hope people have learnt from the example indonesia has now given us with schapelle and i hope they think about the consequences before doing anything like this. Also for those people who do go to Bali all i would say is lock your bags and do what ever you have to ,so no one can get in. Even if you are innocent indonesia says you are guilty.
I have spent time in jail in Australia when I was innocent and time in jail in New Zealand when I was guilty and it hurts more when one is innocent.
I do not know Schpelle however one does not need the intellect of John Jay to know She is innocent and I would suggest She had more decency in Her little finger that that red neck coward Johnny Howard, the man is a caricatuire of a caricatuire.
I am drinking a coffee as I write this and am about to light a ciggy,Schpelle cannot do that or rather She can only do it when She is told She can do it.
this lady has been shit on by everybody.
the cell phone guy Ron or Rob I forget His name looking for publicity at Her expense.
The Attorney She had from Jakarta looks more like an Elvis impersanator from Vegas than a practitioner of the law.
and the Australian GVT have failed Her they are more intrested in raping Indonesian resorces than helping Her,look at Tim Tim and the gas and oil.
as for Downer the man is a buffoon could not get laid in a brothel.
corruption is endemic in Indonesia and I will post My views on that later.
however the only peaceful way to deal with getting Schpelle home in boycotting Bali and that is a shame for a lot of reasons,I like Bali but I would never step foot in Bali again if people boycotted Bali it would cause a strain to the people of Bali and that is a shame .
but Schpelle is innocent and rots in a cell.
people could also protest outside every Indonesian embassy on the planet.
peacefully if people try and remove You never fight just go dead then it will take at least 2 people to remove You.
never throw a punch for if You do You have lost and You will not be helping Schpelle.
I have another idea how She could be helped but those thoughts are not for this board.
however if anybody would like to do something good and noble I would like to talk with You in person.
if You are real I will know You are real in a heartbeat and if You are real You will also know I am real in a heartbeat.
I do not know for sure whether she is guilty or innocent, but she should not lose 20 years of her life over it. I don’t know how MJ is any worse than alcohol. It’s not called the peace pipe for nothing. It seems to make people extremely mellow more than anything else. No one should do it. I am appalled that lives are small in Indonesia and many other Asian countries. Drug dealers only have as much power as we allow them to have. There should be laws against drugs, but I am concerned when lives are so cheap, when people with personal use drugs get punished almost as badly as kingpins. There is so much we don’t know about her. What is there to prove that she is especially dangerous. Punishment should depend on how dangerous the person is and whether or not she sold to those who didn’t know better (like kids). If the person will go to any length for business, he should get a long sentence. I watch Intervention and I don’t remember any of the participants trying to kick a pot habit. It is spiritually very harmful, but people seem to recover from it with relatively few complications. We should also remember other people in Schapelle’s situation, not just attractive people. Indonesia causes me concern. They are tough on drugs, but what good does it do them?
Well well well, Australian people are so innocent that’s the only thing I should say to sum up this stupid case. Let’s not forget that if this drugs got passed that Bali airport, that greedy bitch would have made a lot of money out of weed addicts.
Let’s say she’s innocent 1% and 99% guilty because there is no fucking chance that stuff have gotten into her bag “accidentally”. Ask yourself a slightly smarter question, if you were a drug deal(ers), would you risk your big, fat investment in a total stranger’s bag ? C’mon people, wake up and smell the roses, it’s simple. She’s part of a drugs smuggling ring that’s well established and her family is absolutely involved in this business. Look at her family, her mom, her sister and brother and especially her father. It’s scary to even look at them. I can totally see them going into Centrelink and waste our tax money everyday. These people are trash trash trash. In one instance, they are all now loved and looked up by so many Aussies, even the intelligent ones come to love them. GOSH, give me a break. Let’s help those who need it most. Let’s go down the street and help a drug addict who is jobless and hannging his life on the edge of a road…Let’s move on all of us and condemm this action by both drug dealers and their sympathisers…
Love from Kate and God bless you all
She was guilty, no doubt. She can’t go into another country and show utter disrespect for their laws. Although I don’t think the punishment fits the crime.
It is more logical for her to be guilty but the punishment does not fit the crime. Kate, your condemnation is rather excessive. She is not Hitler. I am embarrassed that I seriously considered the possibility of her being innocent. It would be very weird.
Nicotine and booze are way more hazardous then pot. Even if she is guilty, which i don’t think is the case , what wonderous laws 20 years for pot but if you want to force little girls into prostitution well the police will turn a blind eye. Actually that’s not true they will demand a cut of the profits then turn a blind eye.
She is gulty, why would you take drugs into a coutry that all ready contains alot of drugs.
it would reduce the street value. Ever wonder why cannibus is so cheap in Amsterdam THERE IS SO MUCH OF IT AND IT IS LEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!
Everybody that thinks schapelles innocent can go
get stuffed!! Shes totally guilty! Her Family is the same too, their all the same. And all on drugs. If they want to bring drugs into a country then stuff it up their anus or somewhere that it cant be found!!
ICP!!!
Schappelle is very very very guilty. The family are a bunch of ferals. Also to conceal your theories - my uncle is a muso and himself and his band have been buying their drugs off the Corbys for years. They are lieing through their teeth.
i was once convinced schappelle was innocent…now i dont think she is innocent.tho ithink her bro or some1 close 2 her was involved..i say teach her a lesson.and others involved(if they can find em).i say give give her 10 years and give her(something her mother should have done 2 her littleass when she was a teenager)a prisonstyle female ass-whipping..(for the record..when i was a16 year old female i got into big trouble with the law and i tell u the belt whipping i got on my ass from my parents taught me more than the law could then)….
I reckon there is a bit of explaining to do *from the Corbys* after the final documentary aired last night (24/6). I had my doubts that any one would be that stupidly brain dead to claim ownership of a boogie board full of pot in a country where death is the punishment for dealing drugs! But, after watching the Corby circus over the last 2 episodes trying to get their stories straight (from Schapelle outright lying over to the drugged out father ranting on about whatever thing popped into his mind to the lying mother slagging off the first defense team & lying about who she knew to the back stabbing sister to the numb sculled younger brother who has problems conveying simple thoughts into words & keeping his hands off drugs & out of prison) despite that there is film & photos showing otherwise, I now have my doubts that she & her lot were not somehow involved — if not much more. By the way, I reckon Mercedes lives in Bali to get away from that lot she calls her family! An apple does not fall far from the tree and the way the family handled this made the whole matter a lose/lose for all involved. I thought Nine Networks did a decent job of keeping objective with her innocence/guilt and it will be interesting to see if there are any legal reactions from the Corby’s. I would be surprised if they did not respond with a lawsuit. They did ask to see the documentary before it aired and Nine Networks was smart to not return the Corby’s calls. If this McCauley character (who as well was nailed trying to smuggle 4.2 kg’s of pot into Queensland) survives to tell his side of the story, I reckon we may be closer to the truth.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if she is guilty or not:
1. The punishment did not fit the crime (compare it to the sentences of the Bali bombers people)
2. The chain of evidence was totally broken
3. The comptence of QANTAS is in question when it went through so many hands BEFORE Bali without any suspicion. (might not be incompetent, just lazy)
4. The security surveillance in both Australian and Indonesian airports is terribly managed or lacking for the whole journey
5. If Schapelle had been lucky enough to be caught in Aus she would have had the case thrown out and walked away with all of the above taken into account.
6. Guilty or not, that prison is an abuser of human rights and nobody should have to be there - the life expectancy of the prison is 10-15 years, so she may get death after all
I will say that the Corbys were so ungrateful to the first defence team - they did save Schapelle’s life after all, death was a real possibility. They come across as an awful family, but Schapelle should still come home
I think Ms. Corby is guilty. She reminds me of the women in the documentary on mules in an Ecuadorian prison titled “Pack Strap Swallow”
Corby is very much like those women except that Corby will not admit she got set up.
Most do admit they are set up and resolve to make a better life when they are released.
I feel a strong sense of denial in Corby. And it’s probably a good thing, otherwise she may have gotten death.
she’s innocent. the balinese are corrupt, they set up tourists.
remember bali bombing?

“somebody at a barbeque said the best thing to do was to send in some renegade sas boys in to get her out. its probably not the best thing to do politically but it seemed the spirit of the times and i thought it would make a good song. here is that story.”
