Blogging on the Road

By Hydro | Permalink | 6 comments | July 15th, 2005 | Trackback

Today Sean and I set off on our 10 day road trip to Yellowstone National Park to re-hike the trail that we developed the original BootsnAll code of conduct on. The first version was a little rough around the edges and we’ve since toned it down, but we still believe in it.

Our first day got off to a different start than we had planned, but that’s the beauty of travel. Instead of a 7am hit-the-road, we slept in a bit, made a huge breakfast, re-packed the car, worked online for a couple hours, and eventually got on the road by around noon.

We had thought about trying to reach the Craters of the Moon National Monument for our first night and get some camping in before the backcountry hike, but our late start meant we had to find a new place a little closer to Boise.

We ended up in an RV park in Meridian with I-84 within sight and earshot, but it’s pretty good all the same. We enjoyed a 4 mile run, a swim in the pool to cool off, and a campstove dinner. The park has wi-fi so we can check email and update our blogs. We’ll try to post photos later. Ain’t technology great?!

I think you both can be proud of where BnA is today. I am also sure you are thinking about where it is going.

Good work guys!

They are probably thinking about women.

But yeah, they should be proud: They hired a bunch of really great forum moderators.

Wasn’t Freesia involved on the last trek?

Slip, if you’re referring to the trek that Sean & Chris were on when they developed the Code of Conduct, no I wasn’t there - not on that particular hike. But my backpack was.
