WOW… I don’t fit the requirements for this job but am certainly jealous of whomever ends up getting it! At least now we’ll have a new contact next time we’re in South Africa.

Hola,

I have been a reader of this site now for a few years. Great stuff. I just saw this ad for a South African editor/writer, and it sincerely made me want to be South African.

I am from Southern California, have travelled and lived throughout Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America. I am 29, and still have the travel passion in me- no doubt. Although now I do not look to just travel, but rather to combine it with an international focused career. Does Bootsnall have any opportunities for a gringo like this?

My passion is South America as I travelled there all of last year, trying to perfect my Spanish and soak in the various cultures of those beautiful lands.

I have gone on enough, but I am here to hear of the opportunities with you guys!

Ciao y que tengan suerte,
Dominic

In a nutshell, i don’ t meet the requirements but has the working spirit. To wit my academic soulmate, “Aristotle” a Greek Philosopher opined that, “I count him braver who overcome his desire more than who conquer his enemies for the hardest victory is the victory over self”

Sandhi: Please email me - I don’t see any contact details

Dominic: Please email me as well with your contact details

Emmanuel: Ditto the above.

Thanks folks!

Umm…do all the comments/applications have to contain the phrase ‘to wit’, or is it me again - totally out of step with Cape trends? Just wondering…

Seriously though, sounds like a great job. Especially for a 30-something, native Capetonian who despises her mind-numbing, current 9 to 5 job. So, look out for my application, Sean. Lovely name, Irish isn’t it? (Yes, yes, I know. I’m shameless, aren’t I?…And did I mention desperate, too?)

Bernie, I don’t get your “to wit” comment - I’m sure I’d laugh if I knew though! Yeah - submit away - looking forward to reading it.

Sean, when are you going to start something in India? This shall be your new year resolution (I know it is several months away - just giving you some time to think).

I might be interested, i’ve lived in Cape Town all my life and have travelled to most places in South Africa and abroad, but the big question before i fill out the application is: how much do you pay!

Like many of you I also agree this is an amazing opportunity for someone very special. I’m currently living in South Africa after having met the man of my dreams I returned back home and sold everything and moved here. Ahhh, isn’t love grand or just something to make you realize what is really important in life!
My background is working for Backroads, an active travel company, which kept me on the road for months at a time. Those of you looking for another opportunity in the travel industry this is the company to check out! Anyway, I wish everyone good luck.

Hi Sean,

For some reason I did not notice your reply to me (a few years ago). I am still interested in writing with you guys! Is there still a route open? What can I do to apply/contact you if so?

Gracias y suerte!
