In my Italian 1 class this term, I’ve got two students who are trying to learn the basics of a few languages as they prepare to embark on an around-the-world journey. They’re both taking Italian and Russian this term, and have between them some experience also with French and Spanish. They tried to teach me a couple Russian words the other night, but it didn’t stick. I think they’re leaving in May, and they have no plans to return on any set date - they’re just going.

Naturally, I passed along my business card and told them about all the cool resources we have for travelers at BootsnAll… But really, whether they visit the site or not, it’s exciting to hear about people planning trips like that.
