2 Couples going Around the World
I got back around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday from Chicago…I quickly went for a workout, then for a hike with a my new friend Carleen, and then had plans to meet up with 2 couples from Portland to talk about there upcoming RTW trips.
Shawn and Jennifer Kobb were one couple and Matt and Robin (don’t know last name) was the other. I had already met all of them except for Jennifer.
We decided to meet at Bridgeport Pub on Hawthorne for a beer and a feed. It was a good laugh and they are all very excited with tons of research already done and behind them. I reckon that Shawn should do a pre-planning blog - it would help tons of people planning since he is so thorough. (Wanna do it Shawn?)
I asked everyone what they were most apprehensive about…
1) Matt - food
2) Shawn - getting robbed
3) Jennifer and Robin - I forgot what they were afraid of…ooops.
Just so you know, they were not shitting in there pants scared, just concerned, especially after all the reading and researching they have done.

I guess the part that I think you excel at Shawn is finding resources and links…you wouldn’t have to even write…just make categories of links and maybe short descriptions of what they are?
You always mention this website or that…no pressure to even do it every day - but when you find it, you can share it…kinda like the right hand column of Bootblog - what we’re reading.
What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories

One of the things that tends to happen when I talk to people about my job at BootsnAll is the, "Oh, you're so lucky!" moment. I do consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to write about travel every day - to do something I love so much that work doesn't feel …

Those of you who read the BootBlog may remember my recent musings on how online friends become real-life friends. What some of you who read that article may not know is that I heard from several BootsnAll members after it was published who said, "Yeah, that's interesting and all, but we've been doing that for years now." And it's … [Read more]

Awhile back I posted here about getting into the Boston Globe Travel Show for free. Turns out that was for the trade conference during the day on Friday Feb 19th, not the travel show for regular consumers like you and me that runs from the evening of Friday, February 19 to …

We had a great time meeting with some others and look forward to the alcohol-infused bash with Phillip and the crazy Californians.
I’d love to do a blog and was planning on talking to you about that. Maybe it could start early next year? Truthfully, not a whole of planning going on at the moment.
