Acts of Gord
Mo Valentine said it all, when he sent along this link
Acts of Gord: Love the Gord, Fear the Gord
For anyone who has worked retail–or retoil, as I like to call it. This guy owns a video game store, calls himself “The Gord,” and writes short stories about the idiots he comes across doing his daily business. I find many paraells to this and my days in the trenches of New York!
Here’s a particular gem that Mo included:
The Book of Vengeance, Chapter 6: There Is A Bike Rack Outside For A Reason
This takes me back to my days at Excalibur. Most of the people we dealt with at the knife-and-sword shop were cool, but when you got an idiot in there, every moment you expected their village to call.
Luckily the swords stayed clean of blood, though at times it was difficult to leave them in their scabbards. “Are those real?” “Are those sharp?” “Sure chocko, lemme show ya…”
Now I’m free of retoil… but anyone who’s worked retail can probably empathize with Gord.

What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories
