Behind the Scenes at BootsnAll
August 1st. I can’t believe that the month that marks the end of summer is here already. It barely started!
Anyway, a lot of things have been happening behind the scenes at BootsnAll, and I have a few minutes on this Sunday morning before I go to the gym and watch Greg Maddux and new Cub Nomar Garciaparra go after Maddux’s 300th win while I workout for a while)
First thing, a milestone that Chris and I (as well as Dave, Mary, Brian, Ant, and Nick helped on over the years) was reached a few days ago. We submitted Chris’ L-1 Visa application for processing. We’ll hear back from the gov’t in 15 days. Our immigration lawyer says it should be a “slam dunk” – but until he has the stamp in in passport, I will stay uneasy.
This process began in 1999 – and culminates with this application. We have a company and subsidiary company in Australia that is doing legitimate business, and our structure is in line with everything the US gov’t expects. We have dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s and I really can’t wait to hear back from them. Chris is crictical to BootsnAll’s operations and future growth…I hope the case we built shows that and the immigration folks approve it.
Meanwhile, the BootsnAll office on 13th and Fremont has been under construction for 10 week now. The homestrech on the contruction appears to be here (Muddying of the Dry wall is starting monday) and I hope we can all get back into it before september 1st.
If you are into praying or sending good vibes, please send a few along for our visa application for Chris.

This has been a great week. So busy – I can’t believe it is Friday except for the exhaustion that I am feeling.
Currently, Court is on the phone with Chris working on the Hostels section. Donovan is pounding on the new upcoming East Africa Travel Guide (coming soon), and I am waiting to talk on the phone with Covad regarding our internet connectivity.

Yes, it was a good week, Sean. In fact, every week has been good so far. I hope we can keep increasing the momentum.

What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories

It's been awhile since we had a BootsnAll member stop by the office. However, thank to a recent post on the message boards wondering where the Boots Crew were these days, we managed to arrange lunch with Bideshi, aka Mike (blue shirt below).
With a couple of stints working in South …

I would send La Migra my personal recommendation for Chris but that would probably sink his application.
Here’s hoping he sails through.
