Best Travel Job Ever
The great state of Queensland (where I’m from) has somewhat of a reputation for being a little…. different. Take, for example, the month-long nude party we wrote about in November. Now QLD is making the news again for offering what might be the best travel job, hell the best job period, in the world.
Tourism Queensland is looking for a ‘caretaker’ for Hamilton Island, one of the many beautiful islands in the Whitsundays off the north Queensland coast. Job requirements?
stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of “a few minor tasks” — and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates.
In return for this hard yakka, the successful applicant will be paid a pittance – only A$150,000 (just over US$100K).
You can apply here.
But I love the quote from the Tourism CEO:
“I’m having to beat my staff off with a stick at the moment because most of them want to apply too.”
