Cal State Northridge and Ian Crosswhite
Chris and I went to the game last night.
The Ducks ended up winning this close one – but I want to talk about one player on the Ducks and one moment.
This guy is an Aussie like Chris, 6 ft 11 and talented in the game of Basketball. The night before he scored 11 points and in the 5 minutes that he played last night – he scored 5.
At the 5th minute of his playing time, he posted up and a pass came in from the point guard. The pass was a bit off and Crosswhite did not hold his position well so the opposition stole it and raced down the court to score a basket.
As this happend, he put his hand on his hips and kinda looked disgruntled as he watched the play develop on the other end.
No hustle. No trying to get the ball back. Just a “I am a star, and I am gonna complain” look on his face.
This disturbed me. Not like war, famine, or stuff like that. But to see a young person act like a superstar and not hustle did not impress. Thankfully, the coach, Ernie Kent took him out right away and he sat for the rest of the game.
Hopefullly he will learn from this and hustle more. Right now, even though I am 5′ 10″, I feel I can beat him in a game of 1 on 1. I will out hustle his arse if he plays like he did last night. When someone has that look of defeat on there face, they are already beaten.

Kei,
Hello to you and thanks for taking this so seriously.
The day we made this comment about Ian (he has since improved greatly) – he was lazy and had a bad attitude. That is why kent sat his arse for the rest of the game. It doesn’t mean that he can’t develop into a great player one day.
As for me playing him, that makes little sense. I didn’t say I could school him…but now that you brought it up…I could give him a decent match even though he is a full 13 inches taller than me. The thought of playing him does make me laugh – he shouldn’t waste his time with me, but continue to work on this game and his attitude…that is what will take hime farther.

Hello Sean,
I think you have a over inflated perception of your game. I have playing Ian for the last 5 yars of my life, and like all big guys he took a long time to develop. However the last time I played him he tore the other “team” apart, crossed over guys 10 incher shorter than him, took people to the rack, shot the lights out of the gym and threw down some nasty dunks…
Ian’s attitude may have been bad at that point in time, but some 5′10″ midget whose basketball highlight is this notice board would have no chance…. I hope u dont miss any shots cause if you do, Ian has got the ball and will be back you down in the post!!!
Sincerly,
Kei
