Happy Happy Birthday!
….to me! And Joe E. And I’m sure a number of BootsnAll members. Every year on August 12 (in the northern hemisphere at least), there is a meteor shower. I, of course, like to think that it is all because of me, but I think it’s been happening for hundreds of years. Anyway, since I’ve been down under for the past two birthdays, it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to count some shooting stars. So, this morning, Sean, my friend Brad and I headed up to Council Crest, a high point in Portland, at 4 am, to see some shooting stars. We saw 10 or so, including a huge one that streaked across the sky and we were thinking might have hit earth. It was a bit chilly, but we warmed up by drinking some mimosas
