Kilimanjaro & Safari
I just finalized a trip with two girls off to Mt. Kilimanjaro to, get this, snowboard on the glacier at 20,000 ft. It should be interesting, especially since it’s pure ice. I guess they are trying to snowboard on every continent in the world, regardless of the conditions. You tend to see a lot of strange things on Mt. Kilimanjaro since it’s one of the easiest mountains to climb in the world.

When I was in Nepal in ‘96 I was hiking the Annapurna Circuit which goes pretty high too and one afternoon saw these 12 French guys on bicycles wearing the full Tour De France gear. It was so weird because this was a hiking trail, very steep with steps and boulders etc. They had a team of porters going ahead of them with their gear.
You see some funny things on mountains.
In Tanzania, you have some of the high-end climbing companies packing up full luxury wood tables and chair, showers – and all sorts of things that most climbers in theory don’t need. Some poor porter has to pack it up everyday on his head.
I would like to show up one day at the gate, with a couch and a television set, and see what they would do.
What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories
