Life and Travel in 2004
G’day and Happy New Year from sunny Australia,
I arrived in Australia just before Christmas and BootsnAll is working from it’s Southern Hemisphere Office (ha, ha – it’s a basement bunker). It feels like we are starting off the year in pure travel mode ourselves. I have not been home for almost five weeks and am enjoying the bit of independent travel that I am experiencing. As always, it is fun and humbling to stretch my comfort zone.
With the new year here, I ask you…where are you going this year? Not in the Microsoft ad “Where do you want to go today?” way, but in the “where is your arse gonna go this year?” way.
Are you packing it all in for a once in a lifetime trip around the world? Or are you going try to get out for more weekends away and explore the area around your home? Either way, I challenge you to “go for it” in 2004.
I know that is will be a challenging year for me from both a professional and personal perspective as I try to keep the seams of BootsnAll tidy, and welcome two new staff members, as well as challenging myself to travel to places I have not been to, to talk to folks who I might think I have nothing in common with, and to throw myself “BootsnAll” into life. I hope you can too.
Chris and I are working in Brisbane for the first few weeks of the year, and Nick will be back in Bali by the time this reaches you. If you have anything you want to share with the BootsnAll Community or you are looking for some inspiration, you may well find it within BootsnAll as we kickstart a new year.
Peace.

It's been awhile since we had a BootsnAll member stop by the office. However, thank to a recent post on the message boards wondering where the Boots Crew were these days, we managed to arrange lunch with Bideshi, aka Mike (blue shirt below).
With a couple of stints working in South …

Just wanted to say thanks for the newsletter. I spent last summer in Mediterranean Europe and wanted to hit Ireland this summer, but I wasn’t sure if I could do it, a lot is going on this summer and I wondered if it would be too much. When I read your challenge “go for it” that sealed the deal, I’m going. So thanks again for giving me the motivation I needed.
