my 2 cents

eh.. some of those are good but I don't like the judgemental ones about "dismissal". I know they are to be taken tongue-in-cheek but they perpetuate the stereotype of the obnoxious self-proclaimed hard-core travelers that can scare a lot of people off who are new to the travel community...

You say "Travel to express, not impress"

Then

"Suitcases (even the rolling backpacks) are not acceptable and grounds for dismissal" and "Any member seen riding an open-top double-decker tour bus around any major city shall be subject to immediate dismissal."

If you are traveling to "express" then why would it matter if you have a suitcase or take a double-decker bus? If I had to pick something about travel communities that I didn't like, it would be the people who act like they are better than you because they are more hard core and travel cheaper, dirtier, and to more obscure places.

If someone wants to take their rolling suitcase to Paris and take a double decker bus tour, who cares? This list makes it sound like we should look down on those people. A list like this will scare newbies away who aren't "in" on the hip traveler lingo.

The last code of conduct: Wear comforable worn-in boots (open sandals permitted in tropical climes). Members who wear brand new boots on a trip will end up with blisters on their feet and this is punishment enough.
