New People and Faces

Court and Donovan had their first day at BootsnAll today. Yahooooo!

Panorama of Office with Court and Donovan at their Desk

One of the coolest (of many) comments from them both today was. “What’s the deal with BootBlog, Sean?” Donovan was asking what is the purpose of it and it make me laugh because I often wonder…what is the purpose of it? It is for everything, and nothing at the same time. Kinda like a show about nothing (Seinfeld) Anyway, it spurred a great inter office conversation between us three on What is BootBlog? What could it be?

Anyone have any answers to these questions I’d love to hear in the comments section.

The Jordan poster!!! It’s still a fixture. I remember when you once threatened to hang it over my head.

I love the bootblog, for two reasons.

1. It personalizes bootsnall, Sean is not just some “admin” that spits out new articles from time to time, or a “employee” that blesses the forum with a post or two, he is a actually, completely messed up person like the rest of us, who stays up at 3am and takes panoramia photos of the office and threatens to hang jordan posters over nick’s head.

2. I’m working on a medium sized web project like bootsnall, and I’m loving relating to what the bootnall team goes through, from changing homepages and forums, to traveling to bootsnall group meetings in bali. Of course, currently there is a plethera of difference between my project and bootsnall, but gimmie a few years :)
So keep bloggin!

I’m with Chris here. Sean *is* messed up like we all are - and you see him *as he is* and not some image we have conjured of this guy in charge who knows it all and has it all together.

Having said that, I think Sean has some fantastic ideas and is a great motivator. Plus, he just likes people.

How much more can this blog be? Good question. Personally, I like the down-to-earth flavor of it. With Court and Donovan on board, the blog will change to reflect their perspectives. Their dimensions will broaden the blog which can only enhance it.

Levity, seriousness, information, random thoughts, specific questions - a place to learn and share.

Welcome Court and Donovan. Look forward to your posts.

I think the 2004 standard BnA office gear should include personalized pint glasses. For Court & Donovan, as well as the vets.

Have fun everyone!

No… you cannot get a personalized wine glass instead… what a stupid question…

You will bring beer like the rest of us, and you will like it!

Court, drinking Leinie’s from a wine glass would look a bit weird. You need the pint glass.

No Live Nomadic, personalized BnA pint glasses are for the other required BnA drinking….Big Lebowskis and Mojitos. Beer, like water, can be guzzled from anything handy or straight from the source.

Wine glasses are also separate extracurricular activities. For that, maybe Sean can talk to the Cooper peeps.

Chris Albon: Loved your post…makes me laugh. Wait till you meet me…all my faults will be even more obvious!

Thank-you everyone for your jokes, thoughts and positive vibes toward court and donovan.

What is BootBlog?

BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.
