Poker Night: I’m a Geek?
I went out to a Poker night last night via Miguel and his mates in the Advertising Industry. It was a great laugh as I hadn’t played since my Frat Boy days.
I had not seen Miguel since the Cubbies run in the playoffs and he mentioned that he was sorry he could not make it to the BootsnAll Party next weekend.
I told him that we are going to do a Party Blog whereby folks from around the country and world could “participate” in the Party by posting pictures of themselves drinking their drink of choice etc.
Miguel said that this was “Geeky”. I never thought of myself as Geeky…I thought it was kinda kewl.
What do you think? Geek or Chic?

I didn’t know shoes could be that expensive…I thought $140 Air Jordans were top of the line when it comes to shoes.
Leave it to pampered EuroTrash to find a way to pay TOO much for anything
.
Now if you excuse me, Georgio Armani and I have a date to drink bottled water and day- trade stocks on his Imac.
Yeah, pretty geeky, but geeks are IN.
I know I’m going to be hanging around the Party Blog and taking pics for it.
Jen makes a fine point.
The truth is Geeks ARE Chic.
Long gone are the days of us computer nerds being shafted and shunned. It’s a station that folks have come to associate with celebrity (and prosperity?). Just think, it’s finally a fashion statement to be a dork – wow.
Thank You Santa!
Don’t get me wrong, some of my best friends are geeks. ;^)
If I were anywhere near a computer and not at a big Burning Man party, I’d participate in the party blog. Shit, wait. Maybe one of my video dj friends (hipster geeks at ITP) can hook me up via wi-fi…
Btw, don’t think I didn’t notice that you threw a hand to me, Keener.
mc
Maybe I did throw it, maybe I didn’t
either way, it’s not a bad thing that you called me a geek, just fun to discuss it a bit. We’re still mates.
What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories

It's been awhile since we had a BootsnAll member stop by the office. However, thank to a recent post on the message boards wondering where the Boots Crew were these days, we managed to arrange lunch with Bideshi, aka Mike (blue shirt below).
With a couple of stints working in South …

Awhile back I posted here about getting into the Boston Globe Travel Show for free. Turns out that was for the trade conference during the day on Friday Feb 19th, not the travel show for regular consumers like you and me that runs from the evening of Friday, February 19 to …

Definately geek.
Geek has more of an eccentric, down-to-earth dotcom millionaire sensibility to it.
Chic, makes me think of someone jetsetting around europe wearing $8000 leather shoes and smoking filterless cigarettes in atrocious nightclubs.
Besides, time to face facts, you run a website, your a geek.
