Portland Hair Cut for a King: HairM
Pops and I just got back from HairM in downtown Portland. We both received the King’s Cut.
It was bloody awesome.
I am not kidding, it was the best haircut/treatment I have ever received. Here is a breakdown of what they do.
- Arrive at the front door to pleasant smiles.
- Celeste offer us Coffee. It was good coffee.
- Jessica greets me after I get settled and butters me up for my haircut.
- She (Jessica) trims the back and sides of my dome. It feels good.
- I walk back to the sinks and she washes my hair with Tea Tree stuff. It feels good.
- Scalp massage. Many nerve endings up there. Unreal.
- Finish off haircut.
- Another hair wash and hot towels on my face.
- Back to the chair.
I left feeling great and with a cut that rivals anything I have ever had before. All the while, ESPN sportcenter was on at my station (each person gets their own satellite TV).
If you come later in the day, you can have beer or wine (complimentary with service).
Now that I am 30 and approaching 31 very soon, I always ask my hair stylist if they think I am thinning up top. Jessica said it was a bit thinner on top so she recommended this Nioxin stuff to keep the roots growing. She is 22 and uses it herself. That sold me. (Chris, I’m getting some for you too when I get to Australia next month.)
If you are a male and live in Portland, OR area…I would highly recomment the King’s Cut membership. $350 gets you a membership for 16 haircuts/year (just like described above) and 10% off hair products. A big time deal for a high quality cut/grooming and service.
If you are coming in from out of town for the BootsnAll party and want this treatment, let me know and we’ll get you booked up for that saturday the 22nd.

Susan,
I can get you in for a treatment even though your are a woman. You’ll love it.
Can’t wait for your next visit.
Dare I say the word? (Quite sorry to continue the trend Mark Simpson.)
Sean, this sounds so very metrosexual of you…..

It's been awhile since we had a BootsnAll member stop by the office. However, thank to a recent post on the message boards wondering where the Boots Crew were these days, we managed to arrange lunch with Bideshi, aka Mike (blue shirt below).
With a couple of stints working in South …

I remember when you first blogged about this place – I went online and looked at their site and services and was way impressed. I want to own a shop like that and I don’t even cut hair! Very impressive place – a lot of thought went into it and long overdue for men. I will have to seing by and actually see it next time I am in Portland.
