Random Thoughts from BootsnAll Portland
It’s Wednesday evening, and we just turned on the air conditioning for the 1st time. Summer is here.
Things are heating up (not temperature, activity wise) around our office here…but will get calm very shortly.
One week from tommorrow, Chris leaves the US of A for a week or so in Bali, then off to BootsnAll Australia for a year or so. Preparing for his departure has us working longer than normal days. The sun cracks through the window around 5 a.m. and it is not hard to be showered and at my desk before 6 a.m. It doesn’t feel like the day ends till I shut my machine down at around 9 pm.
The picture I painted above is not all work though. There are many breaks, errands, walks, and stuff interspersed throughout the day to keep it interesting. Long, fun days they are.
Settling into Portland has not really happened quite yet for me. The 1st 2 weekends that I have lived here I have been out of town (SF and Chicago). I reckon the party Chris and BootsnAll is hosting this weekend should do the trick.
I mentioned earlier that it is gonna get quiet around here shorlty…not only is Chris leaving, but Ant will be following him out the door shortly thereafter. All 4 bootboyz will be scattered around the globe for 4 months. It is exciting and scary at the same time….kinda like like life eh?
Other Stuff
I am off to Eugene for the 3rd time since I moved up here tomorrow to pick up the BootBus from the repair shop.
Jen posted another article on namebuilding in reponse to my earlier post.
Overall, posting and keeping up on e-mail has been difficult with all this going on and a higher than normal level of spam. Anyone else getting craploads more spam?

What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories

It's been awhile since we had a BootsnAll member stop by the office. However, thank to a recent post on the message boards wondering where the Boots Crew were these days, we managed to arrange lunch with Bideshi, aka Mike (blue shirt below).

Yes, I’ve seen a buildup, especially those titled “need assistance” in my personal mail. Can imagine what businesses are having to deal with.
