September 11th – @ Boots HQ
Things are definately quiet today compared to a regular Wednesday. The phone is ringing a lot less and traffic on BootsnAll is down 15% or so from a normal Wednesday. It’s kinda nice to catch up on some e-mail and stuff.
The Register-Guard had a September 11th section this morning (probably like every other paper in this country) – and while I flicked through it this morning over my coffee, it brought back emotions from that time. Very powerful images.

Two people, unknown to me and most of the world, came to mind on this day of commemoration.
The first was a man who shared his final moments with his father uttering these words: “Don’t worry, dad, it’ll be quick.”
The second was the first reported case of suicide due to the events of September 11th. A woman simply decided she couldn’t live without her husband, two months after the fatal day.
Approaches vary. Viewpoints differ. Effects of tragedy are always sad and sustaining.
