Stella, the king of beers

I discovered a post on Lonely Planet’s Thorn Tree that mentioned Stella, the Belgian beer that is popular in Britain.

If you had bought £1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth £49.00.

With Enron, you would have £16.50 of the original £1,000.00.

With Worldcom, you would have less than £5.00 left.

If you had bought £1,000.00 worth of Stella one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the bottles for a 5p deposit, you would now have £107.00.

Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

my first encounter with Stella was when i bought a great Stella logo ashtray at the thrift store. later, i found a cool logo beer glass. eventually, i was able to actually DRINK some Stella. it’s a great beer. one of my dogs is named Stella, sometimes Stella Artois, sometimes the stanley kowalski “Stellllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”, but a friend likes to call her Interstellaoverdrive. love dogs, love beer, love cool beer glasses, love thrift stores. REALLY love beer!

Kate,

I used to go to France once a week ( I’m from the UK ) and pick up large bottles of red wine and 28 pack cases of Stella for about $6, a pretty good deal I thought.

If youl ike good beer check out some of the brands from Oregon and California.
