Step right up, step right up…
Got a phone call last night at about 5:15pm from Vineet, asking if we’d like to use two extra tickets he had to the Lane Leaders Association Business Expo & Mardi Gras.
Now, having just been to a Biz Expo last week, you might wonder why I was going back for more. Well, this was a spur of the moment decision and the Mardi Gras theme made it sound a bit more interesting.
Let me tell you, these guys know how to do it right. Nearly every booth had some sort of game where you could win prizes, everyone was wearing those Mardi Gras beads and the buffet table had tons of good stuff. There was also a silent auction and a mini-casino.
Looking at my bag of goodies this morning, I have a bunch of pens, a plastic football, chocolate, a letter opener, a book and a t-shirt. Yeah, yeah, I know, it doesn’t sound like much, but when you go out expecting to just wander around booths looking at static displays, coming home with a swag of free stuff is a bonus.
Jen Leo, who got all excited at the mini-casino, snagged a $25 gift certificate and a pair of gloves. The real winner had to be Vineet though. He was the final bidder on two items in the silent auction, a marble coffee table and a really sweet poker table.

BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean?
