Surprise Party: at BnA HQ
OK, now that Chris is en route to Portland, OR, I can pimp the surprise party we are having for him.
What: Welcome Back to America Party for Aussie Chris Heidrich
When: Tuesday September 28th
Where: 3505 NE 13th PDX, OR
Time: Please arrive no later than 7:30 p.m. so he is surpised
I’ll provide beer, wine, Cigars, Scotch and Appetizers from our friends at Acadia Bistro
Fun Stuff: When we walks in, the lights will turn on and folks will yell surprise. The song “Down Under” by Men at Work will start, as a line of American women will greet Chris with a “Welcome to a America” and a kiss. At the end of the line, my pops will offer up a beer and a Cigar to the new arrival.
I have been recruiting ladies to particpate in the welcoming line. If you are interested, please let me know. We could use a few more. (Don’t be afraid, it’s a harmless welcome kiss. Of course, he does smell like Kangaroo)
So please RSVP here and let me know if you can make it.

No.. No.. Sean, Your not a compulsive planner at all…
I’m in line.
Yes - I hope he does not check bootblog at the airport - I know his connections are relatively tight.
As for planning - in this instance, yes I guess I am. I have never been called a “compulsive planner” - I am stoked. Albon, your internship is starting off on the right foot.
I unfortunately will not be able to make it. That makes me very sad… but I know I’ll see you guys soon enough.
I hope the party is a blast!
I will be toasting Chris from across the ocean with another Chris here in Bali.
I’m in New York, but Claudia and I will tip one back for him. Welcome back Chris!
Ant ya little bugger! What’s up in the Big Apple?
I hope it’s ok if I crash the party and bring my crazy Italian boyfriend too. He has forbidden me from kissing strange Aussies, as he knows the temptation would be too much for me. But I’ll see y’all tonight!
Today’s the day!
Welcome back Chris, unable to be there, but lots of love & kisses to you from your bna family.
Sean, can we get pics? I know you got that fancy dancy digital.
Please, pretty please.
Cheers.
We will take pictures and video tape it…
DAMN!!!, Chris bailed before I could make it up to BrisVegas and party with him (or see him down in Adelaide). Nice to see that Chris has his priorities in-line and stuck around OZ long enought to see the grand final.
I’m sure you guys are still in recovery mode after the excessive amounts of alcohol consumed, but I’m looking forward to seeing some pics from the debauchery.

I’m so sorry I got home to late to respond to the invitation. An unrejectable kiss for Chris. Yeah! I’m still working on the Voters’ Pamphlet and having some sad incidents in my personal life. Call you both for dinner soon. Love, Paget
Yes Sean, all Australians smell of Kangaroo.
What is BootBlog?
BootBlog is the company blog of the BootsnAll Travel Network, a company that has been connecting travellers since 1998. Our goal is to inspire, educate and cultivate an organic community of independent travellers. But what does that mean? Well, we love to travel and we love to connect other travellers who have the desire to get out and see this great world of ours. BootBlog will showcase what is going on around the office, around the company and within our community of travellers.Top Categories

One of the things that tends to happen when I talk to people about my job at BootsnAll is the, "Oh, you're so lucky!" moment. I do consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to write about travel every day - to do something I love so much that work doesn't feel …

Those of you who read the BootBlog may remember my recent musings on how online friends become real-life friends. What some of you who read that article may not know is that I heard from several BootsnAll members after it was published who said, "Yeah, that's interesting and all, but we've been doing that for years now." And it's … [Read more]

Awhile back I posted here about getting into the Boston Globe Travel Show for free. Turns out that was for the trade conference during the day on Friday Feb 19th, not the travel show for regular consumers like you and me that runs from the evening of Friday, February 19 to …

let’s just hope that he is too busy to grab a connection in the airport, or if he does, that he doesn’t check bootblog.
