What was your first passport stamp?
Japan.

How did you find BootsnAll, &/or what attracted you to it?
I was doing travel research before a RTW trip and found BootsnAll. I browsed through the country profiles and forums for info on places I was going.

What keeps you coming back to BootsnAll?
The independent reviews and forums kept me coming back for info. Plus there are lots of good travel deals listed.

Is there a destination you have really liked in spite of it having a poor reputation?
I actually like some of the places that are overrun with backpackers. That gives them a poor reputation from the “die hard” backpackers, but there’s a reason they’re popular – they’re fun! Places like Cesky Krumlov, Vang Vieng, Olympos, Byron Bay, Yangshuo, etc…

There are also the places that are listed as dangerous or difficult (transport, language). Despite these concerns, I enjoyed Rio and Cape Town. Sarajevo can be forgotten on the typical Europe trek, but it’s a great city with a cool vibe.

Do you have any upcoming trips? Where is next on your list?
Belize & Guatemala.

What is a place you’ve been to that you would go back to tomorrow given the chance?
Argentina, Spain, Vietnam, Africa.

How many miles will you be travelling to be at the BootsnAll Party?
10 miles (I live in the ‘burbs of Portland).

What kind of boots do you have?
Columbia.

Any tips you found on BootsnAll or from other members on the forums that helped you on a trip?
I did a lot of checking on hostel recommendations and places people liked. If someone wrote a great review of a place, I’d try to fit it in on my travels. I’d also post asking about locations and seeing if other travelers were in the area (travel buddies).

Thanks for sharing, mono loco. Be sure to say hi to him if you’ll be joining us at the party!
