What was your first passport stamp?
How did you find BootsnAll, &/or what attracted you to it?
Researching a trip to Central America. It was much more relaxed than Thorn Tree and everybody was so nice. So I stayed.
What keeps you coming back to BootsnAll?
Oh, well now I’m just a full blown addict. It’s very sad, really. I think BnA Headquarters should offer some sort of rehab (perhaps in Peru?) but I guess if they don’t they just have bigger parties. Sigh.
Well that and I’ve made lots of good friends, gotten great info for some trip, found inspiration…these sorts of things.
Is there a destination you have really liked in spite of it having a poor reputation?
Yeah. A lot. I loved Vietnam. Been twice, every time I’m enchanted by it. But I hear tourists and whatnot have some awful experiences there. Maybe I’m just lucky. Also I hear a lot of people dislike Marrakech. And I liked it so much I ended up living there for the better part of a year.
Do you have any upcoming trips? Where is next on your list?
France, Turkey, Syria and Jordan.
What is a place you’ve been to that you would go back to tomorrow given the chance?
Algeria. I didn’t have enough time there and everybody was just lovely.
How many miles will you be travelling to be at the BootsnAll Party?
What kind of boots do you have?
I don’t, actually, own any boots. I own Teva sandals that I use a lot. I don’t hike in the cold. I just don’t like it. But if I did I’d buy boots.
Any tips you found on BootsnAll or from other members on the forums that helped you on a trip?
Some good information on Central America. Info on Spain and Italy as well was really helpfull. Mostly though, it seems a lot of encouragement. Which I need.
Have you been to a BootsnAll party before? If so, what survival tips can you offer to any newbies?
Yes I have been.
Tip: Dont drink 4 glasses of wine in the first 45 minutes. But if you do, a kindly man will most likely walk you around the block until you sober up…awwww…I miss Jim.
Tip: People are totally cool. So you can talk to them. And ones you don’t like you can just ignore because the party is huge. When I say don’t like, I just mean…erm…nothing.
Tip: Taking shoes off halfway through is okay.
Tip: Don’t mess with Callilucy.
That’s really it.
Thanks for sharing, Prisa. Be sure to say hi to her if you’ll be joining us at the party!
