Win a RTW Ticket in 400 Words or Less
We love travel contests – especially ones with kickass prizes like a free around-the-world plane ticket. Yes, you read that right. The people who brought you the vagabonding movie, “A Map for Saturday” have teamed up with Hostelling International USA in what they’re calling, “The Big Trip Contest.” Here’s the scoop:
Want to see the world? You can follow in the footsteps of the travelers in “A Map for Saturday” on your own Big Trip. We’ll get you started with a free around-the-world plane ticket, 20 nights’ accommodations in Hostelling International hostels and other travel goodies like guidebooks and a backpack. Plus you’ll get tips on your itinerary in a one-on-one planning session with “Saturday” director Brook Silva-Braga.
All you need to do to enter is write a brief essay of 400 words or less demonstrating why you deserve to win this prize. The contest sponsors say the ideal candidate will be someone who not only loves to travel, but who is also willing and able to share the ups and downs of this travel experience as they go. In other words, you’d have to keep a travel blog or post podcasts or videos regularly, which many long-term travelers do anyway.
